Real Madrid Abolish the Clásico Scoreboard and Convert Camp Nou Into a Mbappé Museum

Following Mbappé's late winner at Camp Nou, Real Madrid announce a sweeping programme to commemorate the goal, with the stadium's Catalan seats replaced by white ones and the goal itself installed as a permanent exhibit.

Real Madrid have announced that the stadium where Kylian Mbappé scored his late winner at Camp Nou will be converted into a permanent museum dedicated to the moment, with the goal itself displayed in a glass case on the halfway line. Club officials said the work would begin on Monday and be completed before the next Clásico, which the club has already scheduled for a date in the spring.

The first phase involves removing every Barcelona-coloured seat from the Catalan end of the stadium and replacing it with white ones, each engraved with the scorer's name. Workers will carry out the replacement in shifts, around the clock, and a club spokesman confirmed that the nearby Metro station will be renamed after Eduardo Camavinga, whose cross produced the goal, and that a second exhibit will show the exact path the ball travelled from his boot to the net.

A committee of club historians has been appointed to decide how the goal should be displayed. Its first proposal, which is still under review, is to recreate the Madrid counter-attack step by step, using former players who will run the route in silence while visitors walk behind them. Madrid's manager José Mourinho has asked to be placed beside the exhibit, and the committee has agreed to consider the request in full.

Officials at Barcelona said they had not been consulted, and the Catalan government confirmed that it had received no application for the new museum. Madrid replied that the club had nevertheless booked the venue for another six years, with tickets to be sold at the gate for the price of a single goal.
