Zelensky Orders Front Line Physically Frozen Solid, Sends Refrigeration Brigades to Pour Liquid Nitrogen Along Entire Contact Line
Ukrainian leader takes his call to «freeze the front lines» literally, dispatching industrial cooling units and cryogenic crews to solidify the entire eastern front into a single continuous wall of ice, while Moscow insists the frost is a Russian invention.
President Volodymyr Zelensky, having told Fox News that the front lines must now be frozen, has ordered the Ukrainian army to freeze them literally, dispatching refrigeration brigades with industrial liquid-nitrogen tankers to pour coolant along the entire eastern contact line until the trenches, the shell craters and the mud itself set into a single continuous wall of ice.
The operation, run by a newly formed Cryogenic Front Directorate, began at dawn near Pokrovsk, where crews in insulated suits worked in shifts to lower the temperature of the soil to the point where a tank could roll across it without leaving a track. Engineers report that the first kilometre of front is now solid enough to hold a marching band, and that the ice wall will be extended north and south at a rate of one village per day.
«We are not asking Russia for a ceasefire,» a senior presidential adviser said. «We are asking Russia to observe the ice. It is very visible. It is very cold. It does not move.» The adviser added that any Russian soldier who crosses the frozen line will be issued a formal warning and a pair of skates.
In Moscow, the Kremlin reacted with its customary self-assurance, claiming the frost was a Russian invention stolen by Kyiv and that Russian troops had already begun advancing across the ice at a speed the Ministry of Defence described as «historic.» President Putin has reportedly ordered his own refrigeration units to the border to freeze the thaw, and the Duma has scheduled a vote to declare winter a Russian national achievement.
By next week, Ukrainian officials say, the frozen front will be lit at night so that the whole world can see exactly where the war stops.
