Hearts to Play Every Remaining Match at Celtic Park Until Title Won, Bloom Announces
Tony Bloom has confirmed that Heart of Midlothian will relocate all home fixtures to Celtic Park and play continuously, day and night, until the Scottish Premiership trophy is physically in the club's hands.
Heart of Midlothian will play every remaining fixture of the Scottish Premiership season at Celtic Park, including their own home matches, and will not leave the stadium until the title is mathematically secured, investor Tony Bloom announced at a press conference held on the centre spot.
Under the plan, the team will play continuously — two matches per day, then three, then as many as the floodlights and the fixture calendar allow — with players sleeping in the away dressing room and eating a compulsory diet of raw oats and Edinburgh tap water prescribed by a club nutritionist who has moved into the boot room.
«We have arranged for the grass to be replaced every Tuesday,» Bloom said. «If we are still playing in May, we will replace the grass every Monday as well. I would be really disappointed if we were not.»
Celtic, informed of the arrangement by a hand-delivered letter carried on foot from Tynecastle, have been asked to keep the turnstiles open and the pie stalls staffed indefinitely. Their supporters have been issued a timetable of when to applaud.
By the third week, local residents reported that the roar from the stands had become a permanent weather-like condition, and the club shop had sold out of away shirts to people who simply wanted to be nearby.
