Nvidia to Install a Robot in Every German Factory by Friday, Chancellor Merz Personally Tightens the Last Bolt
At Berlin's investment summit, the federal government and Nvidia agreed not merely to develop AI robotics but to physically embed a working robot in every industrial facility in Germany before the weekend, with Chancellor Merz touring the country to personally tighten the final bolt on each unit.
BERLIN — The federal government and US chipmaker Nvidia have agreed to install one functioning AI robot in every industrial facility in Germany before the end of the week, with Chancellor Friedrich Merz personally tightening the final bolt on each unit as part of a nationwide handover ceremony.
The two ministries that signed the original declaration of intent have been converted into what officials describe as a «deployment task force», staffed around the clock and equipped with flatbed trucks, torque wrenches and a printed map of every factory floor in the republic. Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang arrived at the investment summit carrying a single prototype robot under one arm and informed the assembled executives that the remaining units were already on the motorway.
«We are not developing models for the future,» a ministry official said. «We are delivering them now, to the loading dock, and the Chancellor will be present at each installation until the bolt is tight.» Factories that have not yet cleared space for their robot have been instructed to move machinery into the car park; several have begun holding rehearsals in which managers practise standing aside.
By Thursday afternoon the convoy had reached its ninth facility, where Merz was photographed kneeling beside a robot arm with a wrench while Huang held the instruction leaflet upside down. The summit's remaining agenda items were cancelled so that the delegation could keep up with the trucks.
