Pinnacle Financial Director Ingram Buys Stock in Company He Has Begun Living Inside
Director Ingram has moved into the Pinnacle Financial headquarters after purchasing shares, and the bank's board has been forced to rebuild its offices around him.
Pinnacle Financial director Ingram has taken up permanent residence in the bank's Nashville headquarters after purchasing shares in the company, and the board has spent the past week converting its executive floor into living quarters to accommodate him.
Ingram, who has held a seat on the board for several years, confirmed the purchase of stock worth close to one million dollars and said the position obliged him to be present at all times. «A shareholder with this much exposure cannot commute to the risk,» he told staff in a brief statement issued from the boardroom, where a cot and a kitchenette were installed on Monday. Facilities crews removed the table and replaced it with a second table, which Ingram described as more suitable for monitoring quarterly figures at close range.
Building managers said the renovation required the relocation of three analysts from the fourteenth floor and the closure of the staff cafeteria, which has been converted into a stock-watching room with eleven screens and a chair bolted to the floor. Employees are now asked to schedule meetings with the director through a queue that opens each morning at six and closes when he falls asleep. Several departments have begun sleeping on the stairwell landings to remain within reach.
The bank has announced that all board members will be expected to hold comparable positions in the company's shares, and an internal committee is drafting guidance on how many nights per week a director must spend on the premises. Ingram has welcomed the policy and has already requested a shower.
